Job Description
This position is for Pacific Carriers Limited (PCL), a company under Kuok (Singapore) Limited. Responsibilities Liaising with the P&I clubs, legal teams to resolve disputes. Coordinating extra insurance covers (i.e.: war risk, LoH, K&R etc). Voyage Performance Analysis and reporting variances from the initial estimates. Ensuring that all cost data is logged and maintained; PnLs for the voyages are kept updated in the shipping system like Softmar To have sound knowledge of Dry Bulk Cargo – Charter Party Providing technical support to commercial team for Charter Party Terms and Conditions. Reviewing cargo stowage and optimizing cargo liftings, loading & unloading sequences. Ensuring Safe Operational Practices on board, ashore and in ports. Issuing Memos and Circulars for any Operational Incident to improve awareness. Training and Mentoring the Operational team. Reviewing and Approving agency appointments. Reviewing and reporting Voyage Operating Expenses – HRA Cost, Hold Cleaning Cost, Stores Supply, Surveyor Cost Evaluating Ports of Call for cargo / stevedore / equipment / regulations and providing feedback to commercial team. Engaging in negotiations with Third Party Vendors in order to improve cost savings. Monitoring vessel movements and performances including route selection based on weather conditions. To develop Operational Process and Procedures for improved efficiency and results. Updating various vessel questionnaires and certificates’ databases. Requirements University Degree in Maritime or related fields Candidate must have at least 10 years of relevant experience in related industry with sailing experience. Good communicator who is capable of report writing in a clear and structured way. Good negotiation skills. Leadership and management skills are essential in Operations Management and must be able to demonstrate previous experience of managing people, including performance assessment. Strong problem solving and analytical skills is essential.
