Job Description
The Port Captain directly interfaces with the tug and barge fleet to ensure its compliance with company policies, customer audits, and compliance with regulatory and government procedures/inspections. The Port Captain will coordinate with Operations, HSEQ and Engineering to manage and improve vessel operations and utilization, conduct tug management inspections, attend SIRE inspections, and conduct evaluations and navigation assessments of crewmembers via direct observations on board, develop marine operations and cost control programs for vessels. Frequently required to board tugs, barges, and ships, at dock or at anchor in all weather conditions and at all hours.
