DNV – Maritime Region Americas is seeking a Junior Surveyor to join our West Coast operations in Seattle, WA. As a Junior Surveyor for the West Coast you will be member of a highly qualified team of surveyors and auditors serving the more traditional shipping segments calling ports along the U.S. West Coast, performing surveys/audits on ships in operation, ships under construction and and equipment certification at manufacturer locations in U.S. West Coast. Ensure that the work or duties performed are in accordance with the Rules, Regulations, Instructions, Guidelines and quality requirements of the organization and the instructions of the line management. Maintain the confidentiality of Clients' business, processes, designs, developments, and documentation always. Communicate to line management at the earliest appropriate opportunity if in receipt of information that is important to the reputation or integrity of the organization. Exhibit customer-oriented focus through promoting DNV onboard or on-site, and by acting as a technical resource for customer questions. Junior Surveyor Responsibilities Survey/audit ships that call at ports along the US West Coast - (including Alaska and Hawaii when needed), for compliance with international standards, DNV Classification Rules, and Statutory requirements Inspection and certification of materials and equipment at facilities in US West Coast. Survey / Inspection of ships during new building construction at local shipyards. QUALIFICATIONS What is Required: Bachelor's Degree or higher in Naval Architecture or a Marine or Mechanical Engineering Degree and/or equivalent . Maritime Industry experience (especially exposure to classification / statutory surveys or seagoing experience) is a plus. Required training will be provided Behavioral competencies: Team player, but able to work independently on surveys.
