Responsibilities: The Dynamic Positioning Officer will report to the SDPO and Chief Mate and will be responsible for operating the DP system to maintain the riser angle within operational limits, maintain the bridge watch, relieve BCO at ballast control desk as needed, monitor environmental conditions and react appropriately. Primary Responsibilities: The Dynamic Positioning Officer may: Operate dynamic positioning equipment in order to maintain the rig in a stable condition and at the correct draft and trim Setup the DP system and position reference systems Advise the Driller and Chief Mate of potential position loss Assist in performing preventive maintenance on DP equipment Ensure that there is adequate power and reserves of power for the maintenance of position and operations; give immediate attention to any problems Ensure that all defects and anomalies are reported to the Chief Mate and relevant department heads; maintain accurate records Train Assistant Dynamic Positioning Officers Stand navigation watch Sound ballast and bulk tanks as needed Assist with loading and sampling of bulk products Perform emergency duties and responsibilities as stated on the Station Bill, DP Emergency Response Plan and vessel specific Emergency Response Manual Maintain logbooks and utilize inventory and maintenance management software systems Assist as directed by Chief Mate with rig projects Participate fully in all Health, Safety and Environmental initiatives and safety programs and in pre-tour weekly safety meetings Follow Diamond Offshore Global Excellence Management System (G.E.M.S.) Perform other duties as required Qualifications: Basic At least 18 years of age Legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction Possess or able to obtain a valid Transportation Worker's Identification Credential (TWIC). Any candidate selected for this position will not be allowed to begin work without a card in hand or proof from the TSA of a card "In Production" or "In Transit."
