ADVISOR, MARINE at Venture Global LNG Houston, Texas Venture Global LNG (“Venture Global”) is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. The company’s two Louisiana-based export projects service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. Using reliable, proven technology in an innovative plant design configuration, Venture Global’s modular, mid-scale plant design will replace traditional designs as it allows for the same efficiency and operational reliability at significantly lower capital cost. We are seeking qualified applicants for the position of Marine Advisor. This role reports to the Director, Marine Operations, supporting the development of marine operations across VG, working closely with the LNG terminal. General Description: The Marine Advisor shall provide support to Venture Global LNG (VG) staff, contractors, suppliers and other personnel involved in the safe operation of at VG LNG terminals. The Marine Advisor will provide SME advise and support across the marine spectrum where needed, they shall support project development, contract scope and execution and lead terminal specific marine projects. They will assist in the development of procedures and management tools for responsible operation, tracking, accounting, and due diligence. Reporting Lines: Marine Advisor reports directly to the Director, Marine Operations. Responsibilities: Work with marine personnel to ensure safe, reliable, cost effective and environmentally responsible operations Assist in the development of procedures for VG LNG terminals Support all marine activities across all projects and terminals Support VG capital project development and execution, including maintaining RFO, managing timeline etc. Lead LNG terminal marine projects, from concept through to execution and operation. Work with VG contracting team to develop SOW, contract evaluations, presentations to leadership and contract execution Develop, maintain and review marine documents and records related to marine terminal operations, with focusing on continuity between terminals and operational procedures Assist in the development and management of marine assets across all projects. Provide oversight of regulatory and environmental compliance Assist in conduct safety audits to help build a positive safety culture that promotes learning and sharing Deliver effective, fit for purpose marine advice, support and problem solving based on best practices, reasonable care standards and due diligence models. Operate safely within Industry, Company, National and International standards and regulatory requirements. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree, Nautical Science or Engineering from a maritime academy or accredited university or marine school, or Merchant Marine Officer Experience, Licensed – Chief Mate or 2nd Mate or 1stAssistant Engineer, or Marine experience with the USCG, having knowledge of LNG tankers, COC inspections, LNG terminal inspections etc. Experience: Knowledge and experience of LNG takers and terminal. Knowledge of project development, from concept, through the contracting execution, overseeing project deliverables, providing report and final inspection and sign of upon completion. A thorough understanding of contracts process and procedures Skills An acute sensitivity to safety issues in a hazardous environment. Ability to work in fast passed, dynamic environment Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization Organized, planning skills, able to manage multiple activities and programs in timely fashion and with a high degree of accuracy, able to meet work deadlines. Problem solving and analytical skills. Must maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card Work Conditions: Job is performed in an office and industrial plant environment. National travel can be expected. Must be able to board a ship via a gangway, climb to the top of a tank (200+ steps), scale vertical steel ladder up to forty feet or more in height and lift and move objects weighting up to 30 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work indoors & outdoors, and be exposed to year-around weather conditions, ocean environment, and noise. There is a considerable amount of outdoor activities involved.
