Job Description

Brightwork Group is a maritime recruiting agency working to match great mariners with great companies.

Currently we are seeking both Mates and Masters of Towing on behalf of an ocean / inland towing company that is actively looking to fill several positions. The company's fleet operates on the ICW, Eastern Seaboard, Gulf of Mexico, and beyond providing services such as:

-Bulk Barges of all sizes
-Oil Barges of all sizes
-Dredge Support (towing scows, tending dredges, working with pipelines)
-Marine Construction and Support – Bridges, environmental projects, etc
-Offshore Wind and Energy
-Marine Salvage 
-Dead Ship Tows

The salary range is $500-$675 for Mates and $700-$750 for Captains per day based on experience and vessel assignment. The work schedule is 4 weeks on and 4 weeks off. Full benefits such as Health Insurance, Dental, Life, Short Term and Long Term Disability, 401K with match, etc. All travel to and from the vessel is paid for.

Responsibilities:

-Navigate vessels along inland, near coastal, and ocean waterways, ensuring safe and efficient transport.
-Adhere to USCG Regulations and other relevant COLREGS.
-Utilize analysis skills to assess weather conditions, water levels, and other factors affecting navigation and towing conditions.
-Demonstrate strong leadership skills while supervising crew members.
-Communicate effectively with team members and external stakeholders.
-Manage time effectively to ensure timely arrivals and departures.
-Utilize organizational skills to maintain accurate records and logs.
-Candidates must possess a valid TWIC, MMC, 200T Mate or Master NC / OC or higher, and a Mate or Master of Towing endorsement.
